Honestly I'm thoroughly unimpressed with it. The directions alone were horrendous and the materials used were very light weight wood. It smells like cedar. If it is, it's a very poor quality. I croaked a couple of pieces while trying to make heads or tails of the directions and it just feels very light. I painted it because unless you live in a place that has no precipitation ever, this coop won't last. I bought it because the price was right and I was in a pinch because I had three hens sitting in my apt in a dog kennel. That being said....The seem to be very happy in it. They were not pleased being sent to bed last night, but they do love the abundance of earthworms I gave them while I was doing yard work yesterday. I spent more money on hardware cloth and paint as well as better locks than I did for the actual coop. Also, I feel like they need more space..... So I'm working on building a few grazing areas in my yard and making a 'tunnel' from the coop to connect them.
