Duck eggs are great, I've baked with them before years ago, they are so much larger and make baked goods even airier than chicken eggs, wish I could raise some ducks here, but just not setup right for them.

Yep! Got another one today. One of the red sex links is the suspect. DH caught her in the nesting box today. Such a good girlie

I dont even know how many she is sitting on.i only looked at 3 this morrning. My guess would be 5 or 6..she cant really fit anymore then that lol.
How old is Mr.blue? He is beautiful! You should post pics of the blue orp hens aswell !

Mr. Blue was born around April 17th. We don't have a blue orp hen and I'm sorry we didn't get one. The other orp is black. She looks like an australorp but she's more ummm...full figured lol I call her my BBW! They're so big, they waddle when they walk! SO stinking cute!

LOL she's sitting on 5 or 6 eggs?!!! I wonder if that's comfy? Must feel like a lumpy sofa!

Mr. Blue was born around April 17th. We don't have a blue orp hen and I'm sorry we didn't get one. The other orp is black. She looks like an australorp but she's more ummm...full figured lol  I call her my BBW! They're so big, they waddle when they walk! SO stinking cute!

I counted the eggs tonight, there are 7! I checked again and there is movment in all of them, so hopefuly all goes well! Haha its gotta feel like laying on a hard lumpy sofa! I wanna know how she dosnt brake any of the eggs!?!

You will be having a lot of babies around your place between your chicken eggs about to hatch and some new ducklings, how fun! How many weeks to the ducks eggs take to hatch?

I got so excited about Lisa'a first egg that I forgot to say thanks for posting pics of your beautiful lavender orps, now I know what everyone is referring to, they are very pretty!

Duck eggs take about 4 weeks to hatch..The hem will lay anywhere between 6-20 eggs (possibly more or less) before she sits on the nest. She's got 3 eggs in there right now..so im hopeing she only lays 6 before setting..i dont want to wait 20 days to wait another 30 lol
Aw, your welcome! You will be seeing alot more of the Lavs when they get older my favorite thing to do is to take pics of my chickens!

Ugh, I just lost a spangled hamburg chick everyone else looks ok..but this heat is horrible and theres nothing else I can do for them to keep them cool!!!
