In the NY Chicken Lovers!!! thread, Marquisella was selling out her flocks in Vernon (onieda county). Nice breeder quality. Think blue and silver partridge color?

Hey neighbors, we are closing on the house tomorrow in Garrison on the boarder of Westchester county. It would be GREAT if you live nearby to tell me what you keep. I am looking for hatching eggs ASAP. Can't seem to find the appenzeller spitzhauben eggs I "need"... So tell me tell me!

Laying Hens, anyone interested in sharing a "group buy"?

there's someone on CL in New Paltz selling Red Star hens that were hatched in 2014 for $5/each. He has a minimum buy quantity of 25 birds.

I'd like to get some of these but can't fit anywhere near 25 birds in my flock. I'm looking for 6 but could go as high as 8 or possibly 10 birds.

If I can find a couple more people interested in these birds we could all meet there at the same time and make a buy of 25 or greater and just split them up.

Chicken Chat I need your opinion.
I have a local radio show in the Lower Hudson Valley and have been toying with the idea of starting a show devoted to back yard chickens. The station is Am FM and online. My question is will anybody listen? I am not a chicken expert. We have had chickens for about 2 1/2 years . Will people call in with questions, stories etc.? Do you think i could get guests.(hopefuly people who know more then me.)?

That's an awesome idea!!! What's the station? Have you see how much chicken stuff (information and people) are on FB? There are a few serious breeders in the area. I bet you could also get judges from the shows to be guests. You could cover topics from pets, production birds, to show birds, processing & breeding. Laws and regulations. There's an endless array of topics. I love the idea!
