Maybe! I would hate to see them all go to waste I guess you could say! lol If they were wasps or hornets it would be different but I love bees! There is a guy near me that will remove your honeybees for free so he can use them for honey...Maybe you could find someone like that around you?
They look exactly like honeybees to me - brown/gold and fuzzy, rather than black/yellow and bald. If you have a neighbor who keeps bees, it is possible that one of his hives produced this swarm. Bees usually want more shelter than that vine will provide, so the swarm is really just resting there while some members of the group scout for a better location. I agree with the other posters who have said contact a beekeeper, they know how to capture swarms safely. Thanks! How do I know these are honey bees though? I know there is an older (like 60-70's) that has honey bees...Could they have come from there? I know nothing about bees except that their stings hurt! lol![]()
I was going to ask you if you knew anyone nearby with bees. I'll bet it is from their hives, so call them first. My mom keeps bees and she has had two swarms in the three years of beekeeping. She was able to recapture both swarms. Thanks! How do I know these are honey bees though? I know there is an older (like 60-70's) that has honey bees...Could they have come from there?
