Huge Chicken Coop

FWIW, I have used poultry netting on runs...i am not anti poultry netting....i just believe in understanding the risk in doing so and the reality of it's uselessness in repelling predators.
Are you referring to actual poultry netting or metal chicken wire type netting?

Chicken wire only keeps chickens in, not predators out. I had three stray dogs break in through chicken wire and kill every chicken in there. You are asking for trouble. You have been lucky so far. I pity your chickens. They will eventually get killed. Just my humble opinion.
:goodpost: You can take that to the bank

Why do you pity my chickens? I have no doubts that my chicken wire will protect them from everything but mountain lions and bears. It has already stood up to years of skunks, raccoons, bobcats, multiple dog attacks, and several coyotes and foxes.

Thanks Leighe. Mine is divided into three sections so we can keep three different breeds separated. Those are treated pine poles, they are connected with metal dowel pins and then held together with plain wire.
I noticed poles going across the top to the middle pole to hold up the wire on top? How did you connect those poles (if there are poles there). If those aren't poles what are they?

You must have some stash of 1975 chicken wire or something because dogs and raccoons and coyotes and foxes would shred todays wire. Either that or you are trolling us.

Either way I am unsubscribing I have had enough, ah the feeling that washes over me as I check the box not to follow thread....

Buh Bye

You can lead a horse to water.....

I am going to use chicken wire and that is that. Does anyone have any advice on the spacing of posts, what the height should be, or some fun items to put in it for the chickens?
