HUGE EGG and another inside!

Over the last couple of months we have had several abnormal eggs and therefore watch this hen carefully. More recently the eggs have been normal though......

However, yesterday she laid this enormous egg! It is 3 times the size of her normal egg.

Here are pictures so you can see the difference from that of a normal sized egg. To give you example of the size, you can see the abnormal egg in a 1 cup measuring cup. We did open the egg to find normal whites and yoke but we also found another whole hard shelled egg! In it was also normal whites and a yoke.

Anyone ever experienced this? Would it have hurt this hen? Will she be able to lay an egg again?

I've had an egg in an egg before, the bird suffered no ill effects, though I imagine it was not entirely pleasant to lay something that size. I had one bird that laid enormous eggs on a regular basis, and some of them were normal inside, some of them were double yolkers. She did so from about 1 year old until she died, between 4-5 years old, never prolapsed or had any other issues. I've another hen that just recently came back into lay and she's now laying really large football shaped eggs. So we'll see if it continues.
