I went to the post office. The egg weighed 3.8 oz. That is 107.7 grams by my calculations. Is that considered huge??

Hey jesters eye, my post-lady mentioned she weighs Derby Cars too, so she didn't find weighing an egg strange. Too funny.

3.8 oz is a really big egg, but here's the one mentioned a few posts back. It was laid by one of my Delaware hens last March. This egg weighed in excess of 6 ounces and the hen was none the worse for wear. I couldn't even figure which one had laid it. When I cracked it into the skillet I found it was an egg within an egg!

I just watched a portion of the news where a local just had the 3rd largest egg recorded - 40z.. Maybe your hen will be a record setter!!

Oh my gosh, dbcooper02, that is a monster egg. Looks like a potato!!!! You should have had it bronzed. Once I have the chance, I will get my DH to film me cracking it and try to post it. Just let me get my wild, soccer-playing kids in the bed.
