Our 'giant' red sex link "Ella" laid her first egg today... She is the first NOT to lay in a nest box, she just left it all bloody on the coop floor. Even though it was her first egg, it was almost the size of a regular egg. I can't imagine how big her eggs will be once she gets going. I suppose tomorrow I'll check her hind end to see if it's OK... even though we've only gotten 10 eggs in just 9 days (our first eggs) this is the first one that had blood on it.
