HUGE FIRE, NO POWER, EGGS IN ‘BATOR! :( UPDATED--PEEPS!

I didn't even think of the BBQ! Good idea! Yeah, we still had a little hot water in the tank last night because I was able to take a shower (I did a speed shower) and I was able to wash my face this morning, too.

It's been 105 here so I'm sure the inside of the car would be too hot. Although the inside of our house (with no A/C) will be about 91.

I had this happen recently. I big storm knocked out our power for 24 hours about a week before they were due. We got the generator running after a few hours so it didn't get too cold. Then 2 days before they hatched, someone unplugged the incubator by mistake. No idea how long it was off, but it was 82 degrees when I found it. I still had a decent hatch, right on time.

I wouldn't give up on them.

All great ideas. I'm going to save this so if my power ever goes out I can easily find it. Let us know how they hatch, equibling.

I wonder if they have any battery back ups for 'bators?

I have a ups on mine, but hey, my husband sells them for a living.

They will only last for a couple hours though.

Sorry about the power outage... Sure hope all goes well:fl The battery backup is a good idea. Power went out a few times in our area this last winter from ice storms. This is why it is so good to have some solar power:yiipchick a battery bank depending on the size can sure come in handy. My DH is gearing up to put our coop and duck shed on solar. And we will be using solar and wind generators to supplement our usage for our new greenhouse. And thank goodness for generators, they ae worth their weight in fuel when they are needed.

Well again good luck on the hatching:jumpy
