Huge yolk instead of double yolk.

When I found a larger than usual egg layed by my EE hen, I figured it was a double yolker. However, when we cracked it open this morning, we found just one huge yolk. I took a picture with a sausage link to help you get the scale. The yolk was at least 2 inches across. Maybe this is common, but I've never seen anything like it before. Thought folks might enjoy seeing it.

I guess if I could have incubated it, the chick would have been very well fed!
 
Funny- I just had the same thing happen! The egg was gigantic, I thought for sure it would be a double yolker. The yolk was easily twice the size of a large egg! I too was imagining the chick that might have hatched out of that egg!
 
She's back on the nest again today. I'm kind of surprised. Thought she might skip a day after that.
