Max's phone buzzed on his bedside table. It was his friend Jhonas. Max answered the call. His buddie's voice came out of the phone.
"You okay bro?"
"Naw man I got some pretty bad burns,"
"Dang!"
"Yeah, I know,"
"You want to come over? Noah and Logan are here,"
"Sure dude,"
"See ya there,"
Max groaned again and forced himself out of bed. His dog Bowzer licked Max's hand and wined. Max ruffled his fur. Once he was dressed, Max put on a ball cap and went into town. he pulled his hat even farther down. Once he reached Jhonas's house he knocked on the door. Jhonas opened it.
"Come on inside dude!" Max entered. He other friends Logan and Noah were sitting on the couch watching football. Noah turned.
"Eh! Max! How it going?" Max sighed. "Not that well. Look," Max took his hat off and held his breath.
"Aww Dang!" said Logan. Noah and Jhonas just stared.
"Yeah," said Max again. Their conversation was almost exactly like the phone call.

Brooke got onto Bossy, and trotted to the park. Her head hurt. Her hopelessly long hair was tangled, her Ombre was coming out, and Bossy was trying to canter. Life was just great. She let Bossy canter, but kept it very tight and short. She started crying. She knew most people didn't have what she did, but she could still cry. Right?
