Humans and Chicken Parasites.....

I was just wondering, but does anyone know if Humans can get chicken mites or lice? I have had someone tell me, "Oh no, You've got chickens? Don't be surprised when you get bugs. " I Don't know if this is true or not, or if i should take precautions or what. But is it possible?

poultry lice are species specific ; they only live on birds.

However, mites can be less specific. Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other pests are also les specific.
