humidity question

i have been reading for weeks now on the site and still have not come across a answer to one question that i have and that question is how to raise the humidity in the incubator for the last 3 days i know that this may be a silly question to some but i feel that its important

Surface area is more important then volume. If the built in trays aren't enough or your bator doesn't have them you can put a shallow container under the wire and fill it with warm water.

If you can't put the container under the wire where the chicks can't drown in it you can use sponges instead. Place whatever you use under one (or more) of the vent holes so you can refill it via a straw thru the vent and not have to open the bator during lockdown if things dry out.
