have my incubator running and is holding temps of 99.1 to 99.9 but the humidity is at 70% how can I lower it dont want to loose my chickies only on day 5. what is strange is that incubator next to it is holding 45%.

a lot of times incubators have a hole in the top with a plug in it and if you open that the humidity will drop. You could also take the water out and not fill so many troughs or whatever you have thats holding water. That early on in the hatch though it probably won't harm all the eggs but will probably cause some to stop developing. I found that it's most important later on that humidity be right on but have still had good hatches with the same humidity levels as yours. Infact one quail breeder I know keeps the humidity at 76% the entire hatch with bobwhites and claims 85% hatch rates.

I have already removed all water and opened the little vent. have also checked humidity gauge in other incubator to ensure working correctly. thanks for the advice though. would appreciate any other suggestions.
