Does anybody know how to keep wasps from using the humminbird feeder? Besides that they are fighting the humming birds! TY

I am all ears on this one as I have the same exact problem at my hummingbird feeder.

Hope someone has a great answer but I'm betting there's nothing to do about it except try and kill the wasps.

From what I understand, the wasps are attracted to the little yellow flowers that they use on the feeders. I switched to a glass one with only red flowers, and haven't had any problems with wasps.

Try to switch from the yellow and see what happens.

Try putting a yellow wasp trap nearby rather than buying all new feeders.

They also sell the different flower head attachments at places like Lowe's, Atwoods, probably TSC too.

I haven't had this problem, and I have a cheap hummingbird feeder that comes with yellow "bee guards." Does your feeder have bee guards? (Note: it wouldn't surprise me to learn that wasps feed right through the bee guard.)

If so, they're removable, you can pop them right out. Worth a try, if yellow is what's attracting the wasps!

I have the same problem, and I noticed the hummingbirds would fly up to the one in the wooden frame and then fly right away. When I cleaned it out, I think there was at least 30 dead yellow jackets in the bottom reservoir. . .I have a metal base one with dull flowers and a glass "coke" bottle top and they aren't bad to mess with it, so maybe there is something with the red flowers. I have trouble with the wasps getting on my wet clothes too, and we have had more than enough rain here in July for them to find their drink somewhere else. Those boogers hurt when they getcha!!

My feeders don't have the yellow flowers and the wasps are still all over them. It's so dry here they're hurting for water like every other living thing.
I've seen the hummers tag team the wasps to drive them off.
