Four frozen pies worth and nine dehydrator trays stuffed full...don't worry, it's all cleaned up now.

A late but very productive cherry harvest here.

Yum! We just planted two cherry trees this year so we won't be getting any fruit for a few years. We planted the only two that are supposed to produce decently in this area... I hope to be able to make cherry preserves in three years!

Then you can look forward to a sink like this! I hope they do well for you. Tomorrow we are thinking about a Green Current/Raspberry pie! I think the combination will be good.

Ohh, I am tired! Gooseberries - not green currants. They are tart , so I think they will compliment the raspberries sweetness.

I'm feeling a bit like a gooseberry now...

No cherries for my the last couple years, too cool and wet.
I have 2 forty year old trees. The Ranier usually has a good harvest, but not much from the Bing.

Imp- a little jealous, loves fresh cherries.

Sorry you didn't get any! It was looking like that sort of year here too, but then we had just enough sunny days during bloom to get them pollinated and heavy rain early during cherry formation. You-picks places are charging just 70 cents per pound even. Let's see Seattle to Idaho, that's only about 6 hours drive...
