Hello quail-keepers. Is this falb fee a he or a she? The falb is almost 6 weeks. I think it's a boy but he hasn't crowed or behaved like the other males.

Could you get some non fuzzy pics with natural lighting? He's a pharaoh but exact color is hard to tell with fuzzy pics and indoor lights, he looks muddy brown but falb fee should be grey tones. Depending on the protein in your feed, he might not hit sexual maturity until 7-9 weeks and you'll also need 12-14 hours of light or he might not crow until next spring! The picture of the top of his head looks falb fee though.

Fuzzy photos are my speciality!! :lau .
He is browner than his siblings who are definitely all hens. I managed to take a few pictures of him outside in the coop. Can't guarantee the lighting or fuzziness will be any better though, I'm sorry @Susan Skylark.

He merges in with the brown bedding too well.

Doing what quail do.

We get around 13 and a 1/4 hours of natural light. There is a street light behind our house. I assume that will provide artificial light for them? I know the street light played havoc with my plants photosynthesis process. Whilst we still have a good amount of daylight here in the north, I'll listen out for him crowing.

As you probably know UK quail are not fed as much protein as American quail. He's eating a mix of grower and layer pellets with some hemp added in for good measure with caterpillars and grit to aid digestion.
