hunting

Ive only been deer and elk hunting. No turkey or duck. This year however I didnt draw out so I guess I will be sitting home :( I hate the whole draw process and most land is private property where they charge you an arm and a leg to hunt. It just ruins the whole experience of hunting in my opinion. I think that you can own the land but during two weeks a year, it should be open up to hunting. Same with fishing. If you have a natural stream or river you shouldnt be able to claim that as part of your private property.

In South Carolina we have a long season Aug.15 to Jan 1. I wish they change it to Sept- late Jan here to hot in Aug.

Season starts in the am Thursday and they are calling for rain lots of rain all week and thu the weekend.

I use to hunt with my husband. Mainly whitetail. We had child number 3 and she is now 4 yrs old and I haven't hunted since she was born. Someday I will go back. I did all seasons, bow, black powder and rifle. I do miss it but now I am finding I am spending that "hunting" time in other areas. Like I said, someday. I have done some pheasant hunting but nothing else as far as birds. Well, I have tried dove but I don't really find any reason to kill them since I don't like the flavor and you have to get so many of those things to fill anyone's stomach. My dream hunt is to get a Mule deer. Too bad they aren't here in Oklahoma. :(

I just signed up for a hunter education course. There is a bow and arrow proficiency test and I can shoot pretty well but I'm afraid that when I take it I will get so nervous that I miss every shot. :/
