Huricanes, twisters, tornadoes! OH MY!

I personally would probably sleep with the flock in the car. Or maybe to plan for the future, a small cattle trailer may be a thought or even to look into one. They make small ones about the size of a mini cooper.

My city was devastated by Laura this year. We are currently watching Delta. Recent models put it coming close to us again. This year is a joke.

I couldn't evacuate them for Laura
I put them in my shop. They managed to all get out because the door blew open
I lost one bird. But all the others did fine.

If I had just 4 I would load them up in kennels with the dogs and cats.
I have a dog play pen with a mesh and sun shade cover that would work fine to let them exercise during the day.

My friend evacuated and couldn't take hers either. She bought a pop up tent and put it in her house. Her chickens did fine.

I would rather leave mine loose outside (they can seriously hunker down) than in my house bc there is no guarantee of when you can come home. I couldn't move back for 3 weeks after Laura.

Thank you for the reply but I wouldn't leave them outside and take to much of a chance of them being dead or miserable and traumatized

That's why I gave you other options. I only meant if you couldn't take them for some reason. It's better to take your chances outside than risk dying of dehydration and starvation inside with limited food and water.
