Hurray!!!!!!!! Made a Hen Go Broody

Hi All,

I am so happy that i made my hen go broody.

Well at least she is spending this night in the nest with fake eggs. She has been laying since 1 month. and almost a brown egg a day.

Is she dark cornish or a game hen/mix ?

That is one fabulous looking hen! She looks (breed-wise) like this fighting cock I adopted from the SPCA several years ago (we rescued him from a ring he was apparently made to fight in).

I was going to say Malay, that is what mine looked like.

Today Marks 1st week into incubation. I will Candle the eggs tonight and throw away unfertile and quitters (if any)

3 Eggs found unfertile. they seem to be of the same hen. 1 welsummer egg found to be quitter.

15 healthy eggs remaining.

Only 5-6 days to go.

Chicks started to hatch late last night.

Uptill 9 am 4 chicks had hatched. will check on them and update later.(with pics and vdos)
