If it stays just offshore one issue as it will not lose strength as it would if the eye goes over land.

So true. Skirting the coast would just put the entire western half of the state from the middle to the coast in the highest wind/flood area as well. My personal worry is for Naples. My granddaughter is there.

It keeps that strongest Northeast quadrant of the storm spinning over the coast potentially causing higher storm surges. Have a niece riding it out in their apt in Boynton Beach.
