I've said that about my newest batch of Silkie girls....although one proved me wrong today. She figured out how to go up the deck steps, across the deck, and down the other side steps to get out into the yard. I was cleaning the coop and .
The SQ silkies are as dumb or dumber as the Sultans. I had to rescue my current one from the forest once because she got scared, ran down there, and couldn't figure out how to get back up.

I would actually love to visit up your way! I think getting the chickens home might be a problem though...stress wise. They would probably do ok down my way...I'll have to research how cold is too cold for them. I do winterize the coop but it is still "freezing" outside of it.
Plus it's hard to get chicks past border guards. Eggs are easier.

They're just as hardy cold-wise as any one of the rest of my birds. Have had no issues down to -40.

OOH! It doesn't get THAT cold!!! I think I can remember -2 or -3 one year...and that was considered extreme. That year we kept getting ice storm after ice storm. Our back yard is on a slant....so you can imagine the fun it was to get into the coop....or sliding into it I should say. Driveway too...wound up under the SUV.

I don't envy your ice, though. That's one thing best kept down there.
-2*F as a high? Or low?
