I will always remember this because I got confused back in the beginning of this thread and thought Penny was mixing stuff in her coffee and tried to tease her once but she had no clue what I was teasing about because it wasn't her that did it.

Anybody write or type fast enough so rjohns will get the TV version of PR? Or anybody have a better idea of how he can get to see 60 mins, without having to drive 2 hours and sit in a bar (and fight patrons for 60 mins to be on the TV instead of whatever football game is being aired)! (this where the head scratch would come in handy)

Cliff notes are fine. What I'm really interested in is this whole thing about distribution points that aren't distributing? All I have are rumors and innuendo, so reluctant to say it out loud. And the one guy I know, who knows the answer won't reply to my emails, which is really odd for him. I've heard rumor that folks who show up at the "distribution centers" are being turned away. Lifestraw posted photos of their delivery of community water filtration delivers to the distro centers and in the background were tractor trailers loaded with generators and other supplies... I really want to know why they have not moved to where Faith is.

In any civil emergency, the military have very limited powers. They are pretty much at the mercy of local politicians, who dictate what they can and cannot do. A long long time ago, I got into really deep trouble for ignoring an idiot. I survived it only because I had a really good boss, who agreed with me. So court martial turned into a letter of reprimand that somehow got misfiled and never made it into my permanent record.

Thank God for small favors! You were probably doing a good deed, if my guess is correct. I know national guard from other states really saved our asses in 2005

Usually use the small sweet pie pumpkins, but have used really large pumpkin left over form halloween! Just takes longer to bake.

I peel and clean then cop into 1 inch pieces. I add water to the pot to keep pumpkin from sticking and boil or steam until tender. I then mash the pulp and juices slightly while hot and load in sterile quart jars, add 1 tsp canning salt and pressure cook 90 minutes at 10 pounds of pressure. (Or you could water bath the jars for 40 minutes.) I cook the pumpkin in big stew pots that hold 3.5 gallons of pumpkin each. The sealed jars can keep several years stored in the dark pantry. Each qt jar makes two pie recipes. We eat a lot of pumpkin!
