I'm not to worried about me. I hear the people rescuing all around me. I need to keep an eye on Greatwood. Can anyone check the Brazos river water level. I posted a link a few pages back

All we worried about before the storm hit was having enough food for a week and hoped we wouldn't loose power for too long. We didn't once think we were going to get flooded in.

How are ya'll holding up? sorry, i did not go back and read all the post...
I am in Liberty county. Lost power for a number of hours but finally back on and we had a generator.
We still have more rain and high winds to come...

Kiki, Ive seen forecast of heavy rain for your area today. Levees/dams around your are under immense pressure. Controlled water releases continue from upstream to let off the pressure, with some dams having to try to slowly increase their release volumes. Rivers have still not crested, bayous going down then back up. Currents are swift, strong, turbulent.

Good news is that many many rescuers are about. If you think you can't take another 5 inches of water there, I'd consider flagging down rescuers now. I think 5 inches is very conservative. Seriously. In any case, be packed and ready to move. It's not over, honey. Please stay safe and aware.

I'm still OK. Steady stream of boats getting people out. They are taking them to the freeway near me for now. Don't know where after that. We don't have water inside the house yet so we are still staying put. It's only sprinkling now so hopefully the water has time to go down some for my area. What a nightmare. Kids are going to freak when they have to wipe their butts with a cut up towel come tomorrow!:barnie
