Kiki, I really think that chicken is a male. Probably why it lives there in the first place. Someone had to get rid of it and decided if it was a public nuisance, they would make him a public responsibility. Drop him off at the post office. After Katrina there was a rooster who lived in a tree across the street from a gas station. The people at the station fed and watered him. Then the neighbors complained and he ended up in the park. He was in the tree for a few years. Then the park for a while, but I haven't seen him in quite a while.
I'm pretty sure he is a boy and will have to stay where he is too.

Yes, it really is a great feeling to be able to do something for someone else, no matter how small. It often means the world to the receiver, even just to know someone cares and they are not forgotten. It's so easy to feel lost when you don't know where to turn or do next. Knowing others care often helps you focus.

If only shipping didn't cost so much...I'd send stuff weekly!

I'll be sending my package tomorrow too.I'm heading down to the dollar store to see what I can pick up when I pick my kids up at the bus stop. I'll be dropping by the post office to grab a box too.
DO NOT....I repeat...do not look for chickens at the post office.
Walk in and out quickly...keep your eyes partially closed.

I don't have to lol. The people at the post office already know my number and know me as the local crazy chicken lady. They would call me if there was a rogue chicken :plbb

I pretty much have my box together. I couldn't pick up much but I got what I could. The box I grabbed was too big for what I had picked up but the kids have been excited to help fill it. My son pulled out some notebooks that he never used and a whole bag full of new pencils that have been sitting around. My daughter was hoarding a bunch of body wash samples that she threw in and both felt the need to include just a little bit of their Halloween candy lol.
