when isabelle came through the obx...it ripped open a new channel in hatteras island...creating 2 islands that was once just hatteras island...after a few weeks, the closed the inlet and things were back to normal....that whole area is just a ribbon of sand, that is constantly moving...should be interesting for sure

The small run's roof needs to be taken off completely as it's a couple years old and the corrugated plastic took a beating this winter; there's no way it's going to withstand a hurricane intact.
I just went to Wal Mart and stocked up. We just got back from vacation, so now I am going to be doing tons of laundry to get it all done in case we lose power. I am not worried too much about the winds, because it sounds like they wont be too strong, but I am worried about the 10 inches of rain predicted. If it rains that much my basement will definitely flood
