what kind of geko is that?

That's my Leopard Gecko, "Mr.Jingles". He was quite a hit with the staff and guests. As was my hen.

For all the hype, this so-called "StormOfTheCentury" was an over blown joke. The way they were talking, We were going to be blown all the way to Maine. NewYorkCity was going to be underwater. The storm more or less crapped out when it crossed N.Carolina. I've seen regular summer thunderstorms more violent than this. The Woods coop still stands, didn't even lose a shingle.

Predicting weather is still a guessing game, it is not exact. This storm will rank toward the top in terms of damage cost.

The news people just got all excited because they finally had something to report that people wanted to watch plus they aren't used to having hurricanes there. I watched the "Obama briefing" and stuff and just laughed. For a category 1? Seriously? I guess living on the Gulf Coast gives me this attitude, I donno.

And I meant this for you guys that are only seeing the watered down (pun intended) part of the storm. It was a danger when it came onshore and I do hope everyone made it through safe.

It just goes to show that predicting the weather is still based a lot on guess work. Had folks not been warned to expect the worst and the worst happened, folks would be screaming bloody murder. But with folks told to expect the worst and having it not happen makes those putting out the news and the plans look foolish. I'm just glad that folks were prepared for the worst and it didn't happen. So much better than the alternative IMO.
