Hurricane may interrupt incubator

Whelp, there goes our power. Car outlet to the rescue! The Octagon incubator seems to be holding heat a little better, but the Mini lost degrees within seconds. Sitting in the car with a book while my phone charges and the eggs incubate!

When the power goes out you can use an inverter off the car battery to run your incubator. Run the engine periodically to keep the battery charged. They're pretty cheap at Harbor Freight Tools. Also you can get a computer Uninterruptible Power Supply to run your incubator for awhile.

Hang in there, babies! I'm in a similar a situation-- mine are on lockdown at the moment. I have a power converter for my car with two outlets that should run my incubators fine, so if we lose power I'll just move everything out to the car and hope it restored in a matter of hours rather than days.
Aww I hope everything went good for you also :(

Still no power here, so the car is running overnight with the incubators inside. I had to drive a bit and the lock down incubator tipped, moving the eggs. I put them back where they belong and thing I have them in the exact position they were in...cross your fingers!

Possibly a dumb question, but if they are CLOSE, couldn't you just take the eggs to bed with you? put them close to your body under a couple layers of blankets and read a book until they hatch? I know I generate a hot steamy environment under my blankets, seems like the same as being up under a broody.
