Hurricane stress

16 SLWs and they're currently about 16 weeks old
2 hens that are holding their tail to the side.
They have a coop and an outdoor run. They'll go inside the coop until they see me coming
I'm glad to hear you're safe and sound.

How many cockerels do you have?
How big is your coop (sq ft)?

It does look like there's some pecking going on. I would put some BluKote on the tails to hide the redness.
Have the 2 pullets stopped holding their tails to the side?
At 16wks, you have cockerels that are filled with hormones, they can be rough on pullets.

Thank you! I have TOO many cockerels (5), and I was waiting for a while to see which ones were my alphas to pick which ones to separate, and I think now is about the time.
I'll check when I get home from work to see if the pullets tails have straightened out. The weather has been beautiful today, so hopefully they've calmed down a little.

Yes, quite a few cockerel to keep with 11 pullets.
They will run the pullets ragged and stress them.

Just an update for those that replied.... They're doing MUCH better now! Booty feathers are looking full and healthy, no more crooked tails, and everyone's stress level has dramatically lowered.... thank goodness! I appreciate everyone's feedback, and I definitely learned that crazy weather = crazy chickens.

Glad to hear they are improving!
Thank you for the update.
