Gosh this is so sad.View attachment 1734362 I went into the barn after work as always and I always count my chickens and roosters. I was missing someone? the rooster was not visible and that it strange, he is always front and center with the other rooster. I looked and found him under the coop which is about 3 feet off the ground inside our big barn. There is also a indoor fence around the outside of the coop so they have more room to roam in the winter months. this rooster has never let me pick him up and he was not moving. i approached him slowly and he did not move, then I put my hand on him, he did not move so i knew something was wrong, i reached out and picked him up and when i stood up I saw blood coming from underneath him and realized it was coming from his feet. I looked like his toe's were either tore off or mangled or ate off I do not even know. His head was sort of hanging like he could not keep his head up and he had like a clear fluid running out of his mouth or nose. He was probably crying. I took him in the house and put warm water in the sink and cleaned him up. It was awful, his side two "talens" if you will, on both feet were ripped half off, or something, he also had no feathers on his underneath but it looked like he never did, in a small area, like his belly area, and closer to his chest there was a little blood with 2 feather's missing, also up by his shoulder it looked like there was a little blood with a couple feathers missing. I soaked him for a bit, put some peroxide on him and then bluecoat. put him in isolation and i am hoping for the best, worried about him being in pain, any suggestions for me I will take. You have always all helped me in the past. Thanks (He is acually a lot bigger now) I will try and get a picture of his wounds tonight when I get home.
This is true but it’s okag once. what’s done is done.
