Did you see any small amount of blood before the attack? It could be they are very stressed out since the attacked and picking on each other. Or a drake is getting hormonal or even the females are picking hard to know. Do you have a game camera you can set up? That would let you know right off what is going on in there.

If the dead duck was missing body parts or had deep puncture wounds etc, It would seem very unlikely to me that another duck would cause such injuries. Did the duck just look like it was missing feathers and bruised or did it look like it was ripped apart by some predator?

I wasn’t thinking the Op was talking about the dead duck but the ones that are left an trying to figure out why they had a small amount of blood on them? Maybe I missed something

I believe you're right, but I figured whatever killed the first duck may be related to the blood on the other ducks. Maybe the ducks started pecking at the dead one's blood?
