Husband picked these chicks

You read my mind, LOL! I was thinking why not check with the TSC folks. However, that's not quite as entertaining as "name that chick."

Welcome to BYC @Jandsloch. I hope you have as much fun here as we do. :wee:wee:caf :jumpy
I went to the one near where I work this morning (boy it was tough not walking out with chicks) I showed him pics as they obviously don’t have the same ones as the one near where I live however he would know an idea of what they carry anywho he seems to think Easter Eggers. So this evening we r making a family trip to the one we got them from to see if our chicken girl can tell us lmbo and again we hope to leave chickless

I googled images and compared to what I have they look exact! I will share the googled image and 1 of mine here for comparison....this is fun!

View attachment 1724994 View attachment 1724993 we are new to chickens this year and the husband decided there were chicks he had to have at tractor supp. Yesterday so we went. He picked his 4 and I picked 4 barred rock. We get home and I was like what breed did you just get and he says o I don’t know I thought you knew. SMH. So in the picture you will see the black barred rock and the mystery brown chicks. I think I’m certain the sign said Bantam but not 100%. Any ideas? Also including a pic of my daughter holding a mystery chick as well.
i as well just picked up 4 bantam chicks at tractor supply yesterday.....and the straight run bantams are a mixture, both of breeds and males and females, what i have read about TSC they dont know what breeds they get, i asked the clerk and they had no clue...i got 2 little yellow ones and 2 blackish ones, and the black ones , one had black legs and feet....so i have the same mystery....sorry i couldnt help

You should start a thread so we can help identify them!

Why hadn't Partridge Rock crossed my mind? That's probably an even greater possibility, considering widespread availability. :)

Sadly, I don't have any pictures of mine, since it was so long ago....however, she looked very much like this Partridge Wyandotte bantam.

Welsummers, Brown Leghorns, and Speckled Sussex all sport defined eye/head stripes. They're also lighter in color. :)

She is so cute! I actually initially thought he picked a mixed bantam but they r the same size as the barred rocks I grabbed...and knew what I was picking lol

I remember last year TSC had more "variety" in what they sold, but this year, all local TSC are doing production birds. Only things like red rangers, nova gens, Cornish, etc.

I bought my chicks at a local Wilco. They usually always have a nicr variety there. :)

Glad to hear that the partridge rock seems to be the candidate. Guess we will really find out when they grow up.
