Boys will be boys even if they are married!

My DH claims he's 'testing the roads' so he can call and tell me how they are before I have to leave for work.

Truthfully? He's an adrenaline junkie, plus he loves telling stories later of the 'idiots' he passed who had no business being out on the roads.

He drove us safely through roads covered with 6" of snow from Illinois after Thanksgiving. I expected him to, since:
a) He grew up driving in white stuff.
b) He dragged me up North so it was his responsibility to get me safely home.

He didn't seem amused when I'd give an enthusiatic 'Woo-hoo!" and "Yee-Haw" after surviving the scarier moments

And he wasn't amused earlier this week when I suggested he pull out the cable converter box directions because it didn't work. And then he finally had to, to make it work. Best part? It didn't work because you have to turn it on first!

If he gets a night out without you, then you deserve one too. Go anyway, whether he 'allows' it or not. He has no right to tell you what you can and can't do and he can very well make his own food. My husband learned a long time ago not to complain about what I do or don't do...or I quit doing anything and walk out the door. They get a real wake up call when you do that. They don't want to be single, strapped with the kids and have to take care of themselves lol. And if they don't care, then you are better off finding someone else anyway!

Haha, we have ruts all through our property from DH driving around and getting stuck with one vehicle or another.

He, and the guys at his work, all get cars/trucks stuck in the mud as often as possible I think. Only difference is, there they have a huge loader to pull them out....but only after they have flung mud over everything within a 25ft range lol.

Wow, I'm not alone in this!

Just got off the phone with him. He said the roads were better than he expected (probably bummed him out

) and that I would have no problem getting around if I needed to go out.

"The only difference between men & boys is the size & price of their toys."

I knew a couple of guys that took a beat up VW bug to sand piles at a quarry for the express purpose of seeing how many times they could roll it

I think liquor and the redneck phrase "Hey, watch this!" figured into it. They survived. They told funny stories. But I noticed they never did it again....

LoL Yep we still love them...even if they are danger seeking doofballs!

Its just the fear of losing them that drives us bonkers!

I am thankful he doesn't mind driving in all that junk though, cause I won't do it and theres times we really need to go places when the weather is bad.

ABSOLUTELY! That's what DH doesn't get... that he can get hurt, even killed. Even if he is the best driver on the entire planet, that doesn't mean that someone else out there on the road won't take him out. Oh, the anxiety of it... makes me just want to

him sometimes.
