figured after about 3-6 months or so, I'd get tired of my feathered pets, get board and move on to something else....... which would leave him with a great new shed

to put more STUFF!!!

He tells me now, repeately.....with each new addition (of wood and feathers- LOL

I am lucky as well, my s/o helped me build the coop. We have made this a family affair, invovling our daughter as well. I told him yesterday after reading a lot of things on here; that maybe I do need to gets hens and a rooster first then the babies later. He said, whatever I want. Next comes the incubator. I told eventually I wil have my farm. Pigs are after I figure out if i can raise chickens, then the cows. Boy he soesn't know what he is in for.

It's funny though, I texted my dad yesterday to tell him I was getting chickens, he called me back

can't text, said he couldn't see me with chickens. That's only the beginning.

I think we are all married to kin! My DH has been very good about my chickens. I think he likes them more than he admits. I have an incubator full of chicken and turkeys. He wants me to keep track of our hatch rate, and how many survive at hatch. I do understand his technical side working, but I figure what hatches, hatches. I have 3 breeds of turkeys, and two flocks of chickens. (One mix and one all Buff Orpington). And I have close to 100 babies in the inside coop. He fusses more about my two horses than anything else.

big charlie your right about the chicks bringing a big man to his knees.the reason i got into chickens was for fun.an because i didnt have enough work todo.who got you into chickens.
