I want to start raising Quail this spring. I was wondering which way to raise them. I will be raising them for eggs. I started raising Chickens in July and to me they are pets. I know I would become attached to them also.

Hope your quail are happy and healthy !

All three are possibilities. I have a small hutch, and two movable pens that I keep on the ground. To be honest, the quail seem to be happier when they're on the ground than when they're in the hutch, even when I provide boxes of dirt for them.

Here are pictures of my hutch and one of the pens.

I keep four different species of quail in different ways, which species are you planning to raise? I'm assuming japanese quails as they're the most common to keep for eggs and are generally the easiest to tame.

I like to raise them on the ground as they seem the happiest that way.

The Japanese. I heard they're the hardies.
