ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhYes. If your goals are related to production, and not for show ducks, I would totally ignore color in breeding and breed for the desired traits. Over time your flock will get better and better. Make a list of traits that are important to you. If you want layers, then egg production. If you want meaties, then choose heavier birds to breed. Overall health and leg strength are important, don't breed the duck that is the weakest of the bunch or the one that seems prone to every disease/parasite that comes through, or has weak legs as a duckling. It won't work out perfect because each generation will inherit some traits from the dad and some from the mom, but if you keep making good breeding choices your flock should improve each generation.
