I was just wondering what all species of pheasant can cross so that I know what birds can go together without worrying about hybridization. I know about reeves and ringneck and golden and amhearst. Could my silvers cross with reeves, ruffed pheasants, or ringnecks?

    Quote:Yes, they certainly can.

See if you can a copy of these books -

Johnsgard, P.A. 1999. The Pheasants of the World: Biology and Natural History. 2nd ed., Smithsonian Press, Washington D.C.

Madge, S., McGowan, P. 2002. Pheasants, Partridges, and Grouse. Princeton University Press, Princeton, NJ.

Valuable natural history information that will benefit the aviculturist (including a chart on this very topic in Jonsgard's book).
