Hygrometer and Thermometer

I just bought a GENESIS INCUBATOR 1588 & AUTOMATIC EGG TURNER 1611 from ebay. Even thought the temp is preset is it still a good idea to get a Thermometer & Hygrometer?

I did, in fact, I bought two to make sure they were both on the money

Not just a good idea, but must. The temps are pretty reliable in the Genesis if you keep the bator in a temperature steady room, but humidity is totally under your control. Too many variables to just rely on filling the inner well and letting it ride. Make sure you check the calibration on the hygrometer and adjust accordingly. There are plenty of threads on that, so I wont' go into that hear. Just search for hygrometer calibration and you will find info on this forum.

Keep two that are similar in readings, get your receipt, and take the others back for credit.
