So our chick is just about 2 days old and suddenly has a small cut at the beginning of its beak and the chirping is too excessive. This guy is also trying to jump out of the box it is in! Too hyper. I am not sure what's wrong but I need urgent help please! Could it be that it's in pain and I am not able to understand?

Are you providing heat? Some chicks are more hyper than others. As long as its eating and drinking fine there is noting to worry about.

Hi! Thanks for your response! Yes it's been kept in heat with a warm bulb (just like we did with other chicks). It's eating and drinking well. Does that mean there's nothing to worry about?

Hi! The brooder is a box with a bulb to keep t warm. I put it with the other chicks but they were picking on it so I separated it. It's eating well and drinking water as well. I haven't put anything on the cut as I wanted to take tips from people here and then proceed!
Does it have other chicks with it? Chickens are flock animals and NEED company. What is the brooder like? Have you taken care of the cut? Is it eating and drinking well?

It might be trying to jump out because it is lonely. Can you put at least one other chick in with it? Or maybe make a separate part of the same brooder as the other chicks where it can see them but not get picked on?
