I just found my baclyard chicken in the pool a few moments ago. It has always stayed away from it. I took it out of the water and now its warming up near the fireplace.

She isnt moving, and i dont know how long it was in the cold water.

Is there a way to check for a pulse?

we are keeping it warm with blankets!

How cold is it outside where you are? Do you have a blow dryer? You could probably use a blow dryer on low and a little way away from the chicken so as not to burn her.
Let us know how it turns out.

Drat - this sound sbad. Bumping this up - sounds like you can't tell if she's breathing? Yikes - that does not sound good. She may have ingested water and needed to have it expelled and maybe even CPR (I know that sounds strange but...) to get things moving. Hoping for the best.

Pick her up and listen to see if she's breathing. It will sound like bellows, not like our breathing.

Does she have any reflexes, like if you touch her eyes, does she blink or if you grab her toes, do they move?

Keeping her warm is the correct thing to do if she's fallen into the pool...

I hope she'll be okay.

jjthink, when i found her, her head was above water, so i dont think she drowned.... she is just very cold..

We are doing the blowdyer thing now.

no reflexing, when we open her eyes, she closes them. I hope she is just unconscious
