"I'm 4 inches taller"
You might be a semi-identical twin. There is a little-known fact that there are two different degrees of identical twin: 1.) 'More identical', 2.) 'Less identical, but not as unidentical as fraternal twins'.
....<Impressive pedigree as a lot of Thb....>...."No wonder it was the mutation. "
You think the HYPP mutation has anything to do with him having Thoroughbred blood? Mutations are just - mutations, they have nothing to do with crossing, outcrossing, etc. They are random events (well, unless you get radiated a lot) that can occur in any creature. Mutations can be non-beneficial, beneficial, neutral, or almost neutral.
They don't go looking for Thoroughbreds or Thoroughbred-Quarter Horses. They happen all the time no matter what blood lines are involved. They are just as possible in a foundation Quarter Horse as anything else. The gene also happens to cause heavier muscle - that's why Impressive was so...impressive. Or why people said, 'Well, PSHAW! Who cares if they all fall over? They sure have nice muscles!!!'
And there are mutations that are like...'Well...you'll NEVER get malaria, isn't that great...but...uh...there is this sickle cell anemia thing....'
