I’m hot, and not in a good paris hilton sort of way

The only time I have ever been checked was when the alarms went off, because the cashier had failed to do something to the DVD or CD case to keep it from triggering the alarms. I have no problem with them checking my reciept, anytime they want. I don't steal anything and have nothing to hide.

Call both the store manager and then call customer service in ark, and report them, My dau worked security for them for a while and she said they are NOT supposed to put their hands on you, If the buzzer goes off most people will automatically stop, but NO PERSON has a right to demand anything from you. Make a fuss& complain, I don't have much choice for shopping unless i go to wally world, since the largest store in our town is Dollar General, and we live in the county seat.

Our Costco’s checks slips, the Wal-Marts around here don't, although the practice itself doesn’t bother me so much as *how* employees do it, and clearly the people in this store need some training, so if you decided to diplomatically mention it to senior management they might be glad you did!

Sometimes we customers can be just as bad; years ago when stores still had those big spike security pins on clothing the deactivator often didn't work, and we had to use a hand device to remove them. Well, one time I almost ripped apart the top of my hand because I couldn’t get it off and the customer in front of me had a hissy fit because she thought I would damage her sweater. The fact that I was bleeding and needed tetanus shot didn’t faze her in the least.

I agree with sundance. you need to call the store manager. I work at walmart, I have never seen any of our door greeters do that. they have a new thing now that they only check for reciepts when you are returning something and they scan the barcode and print a sticker. They are not suppose to touch you, if they suspect a shoplifter, then they are suppose to call security, and they watch someone. they are not suppose to approach anyone or try to stop a shoplifter.
they only check your reciept when you leave if you set the alarm off and they are suppose to be nice about it.
sounds like this guy needs an attitude adjustment.
they do have camera's and can look at the video. the door greeter was out of line.

The Walmart stores in this area check the receipts when someone leaves through the garden product area, and I can understand why they do so. There are many people coming and going through that exit, and if receipts were not checked, people could walk in, load up a cart, and walk right out with many $ worth of merchandise. That does NOT excuse the way this greeter/receipt checker acted, and the store management should be notified immediately. It would appear at first that maybe the greeter thought they were helping by reaching for the receipt if the shopper's hands were full, but his subsequent actions indicate otherwise. Although sometimes it is a slight inconvenience and does slow me down, I take a moment to remember that by checking receipts they can also save me $$$ by not having to compensate for thievery by shoplifters. I know of a person who bragged about loading up a nearly $700 set of lawn furniture, other garden supplies, and boating/camping equipment. As another respondent pointed out, every Walmart shopper ends up paying for that type of loss.

I would've been PO'd too!
I've been in retail for over 30 years!
I've been in a store where the Checkpoint was never plugged in, others where the sensormatic tags were never turned on...etc.
I've also paged security because people were bringing ARMLOADS of things out to their cars and they never came!!!

If the buzzer goes off most people will automatically stop

Only us honest folks...the true shoplifters will keep going...because once they're out of the store and into their cars, they're history.

I hearya on that one Phyllis! When I worked at Deerskin Trading Post, they found evidence in one of the dressing rooms that someone CHEWED one of those off!

Good grief. Just when you thought you'd heard and seen everything retail...
Granted, I only did about 8 years... 8 years too many!

To bad it wasn't one of those ones that release ink when tampered with.
