I am brand new to both the forum and the chicken community. After years on contemplation and complaining about the lack of time this time in history has provided and opportunity to do a project with the family. So we are in the process of clearing land on the property, coop design, materials and awaiting chicks 5/20
As of now we do not have any chicks but will have 15 ladies soon
We settled on 3 different breeds: Turken Naked Necks, New Hampshire Reds, Columbian Wyandotte’s - a combination of loving the Turkey look as we have many wild Turkeys in backyard and the Reds and Columbians for egg laying and breed characteristics.
I’m always interested in learning new things and getting outside my comfort zone so I’m looking forward to the challenge
I enjoy being with the family, physical fitness, golfing, working on the property and the two dogs
I found BYC through Pinterest and a couple of Hatcheries recommended. I need as much help an advice as possible so fire away
I’m pretty excited to learn all you have to share
