I prefer having a mixed flock of dual-purpose breeds. So many fun feather patterns and egg colors to choose from can make for a very interesting flock. Plus the colorful eggs are so fun to give to your friends and family.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! My personal favorite is a Buff Orpington, but I think how friendly they are depends on how much you handle them as chicks. I don't handle mine much at all, and yet my BOs are pretty friendly. Sweet birds.
