I’m new to the duck scene. Need some advice please.

On a realistic note. When I got her home I gave her a warm bath and she seemed to really enjoy it. She preened for a little bit. I got her out and dried her off. Then fed her and gave her the meds. She pooped her healthiest poop I’ve seen in a month. She looks a good bit better now. She’s more attentive now. I fed her last night and let her rest. This morning she seems better than has been. I’ve been fighting kidneys stones since Thursday. These things are terrible. I’ll update later on her progress

I talked to the vet. He says she’s doing better, but in reality she’s doing the same. She’s still on meds. She’s not eating still and not drinking a lot. The vet was tube feeding her and I will be continuing to tube feed her. Her antibiotics are injections now. She’s on an oral anti inflammatory. She’s maintaining weight. She has a severe infection. Believed to have started in the sacs of her lungs and has spread to her blood. There are no signs of any kind of toxin. X-ray rules out ingestion of anything metal or lead based. Bloodwork shows really high white blood cell count. The rest of the labs are relatively normal. The vet consulted with 5 specialists. They all agreed on the same treatment. I have to take her back Thursday for bloodwork and see if the antibiotics are working. She looks the same as before. If her bloodwork isn’t showing any change for the better, we are gonna have her put down. We’re over $800 in on vet bills and meds at this time. At some point I have to draw a line. And that line will be next Friday when the labs come back. Thankyou for all the support. And I ask for continued prayers.
So sorry to hear she isn't much better. That is very frustrating for you after all you've done to save her. 😔

Y’all, she’s showing signs of improvement. She’s quacked a few times today and is drinking a lot more water. She’s preening herself a lot more. She’s still very weak and able to walk real good. She’s a little off balance. I guess that’s to be expected when you e been in a kennel for almost a month with little exercise. I have her outside right now letting her walk around and feel the sun on her.

I think the antibiotics are working. She’s still not eating. And drinking about the same, which isn’t enough. But she’s quacking here and there. She really seems off balance. I don’t know if it’s muscle weakness or dizziness. I take her back to the vet Thursday morning
