It all depends on the dynamics of your flock.
I've never had a problem. Mine stay with the flock but I section off their nest to keep others from laying in it. I let them leave the nest when the chicks hatch and they integrate with the flock just fine. I have a pretty laid back flock. I'd say observe and roll with the punches ( or pecks). Enjoy!
