The angle that you are holding the duckling that doesn't look like the butt. It looks like the front where the abdomen is? I would venture to guess it's the area where the navel cord was. Or it looks very much like a tick. Have they been outside? If a tick, it needs removed. If it is something on the bottom where the vent is, it will need removed. If that is the case, I would try coconut oil and a qtip. If navel, leave it alone.She is about a week old. That’s the hard part by her butt. I can’t figure out how to post a video.
Ducklings should not be in water for a prolonged time due to not having the adult feathers and the oil to keep them dry. However, they should always have water deep enough to stick their head in to rinse their nares and eyes and this should be available at all times.
