I’m starting to hate my rabbits because of Craigslist people… Rant

I know you mentioned FB, do you have any other venues for advertising where you are?
Like BooKoo or Nextdoor?
No. At least not that I know of. Besides an ad in a physical paper.

Here is your new Craigslist ad:

Adorable mixed breed baby bunnies!! I have ____ (number of rabbits) looking for forever homes! (If they are friendly, say so here) They are 8 weeks old and ready to leave Mama. I have ___ and ___ (sexes). Please contact me if interested!

Now, you NEED to get good pics of the kits. In a basket, on the couch, none of this in the cage stuff. People HATE seeing that their outdoors or in wire bottom cages. Treat people with respect and let them know that you do care for your rabbits. Be excited and kind to them. It's the only way they will sell the way you are wanting them to.
Thank you.

Thanks for explaining.

I know right well you didn't mean to have kits and are trying to find them decent homes and I know you're very frustrated with this whole thing but as someone who's worked in marketing/pr for over 10 years, the wording in your ad just screams "unfriendly" and "sketchy" and no interested person in their right mind would do business with you. You're also leaving yourself wide open for trolls since they know they've gotten under your skin. Nothing attracts jackals like squalling.
Next ad, (after easter) state what you have, how they were weaned, what they eat now, their breed, sex and age. Explain they were 'oops bunnies' and Bunnies can breed right after they give birth so you ended up with two litters and the parents are now neutered (even if they aren't). If you can any flack, explain politely that all the information is on the ad and don't respond. Don't respond to people who don't understand. Always be professional, brief and polite. You know you haven't abused your Bunnies in any way so don't let it bother you. be thankful that there are people who don't let people get away with puppy mill type breeders, even if it's a thorn on your side right now. there's someone that sells chickens like this in my area and you can see the squalor she keeps them in.
Perhaps an ad in the paper or flyer at the post office or feed store, to try to cut down on the hecklers.
As many here pointed out I’m no good with words. I’m too blunt and say what I mean. In a mean way and it usually comes out wrong. Which gives people the impression of me being a b***h. I am very frustrated and that’s when my words get lost most. I’ll try again and do it the professional way. Though my first few ads were worded the way you suggest, they were more than likely not nice. I listed that they were weaned and eating hay. They were raised with their mother and what sexed they were. I kept it short because those were the ads for rabbits I had seen.

My ad says Tamuk meat rabbits. Bred for heat tolerance and do very well in our summer heat.

X does and X bucks available. 25 each

Mine are on wire. (Buyers won’t take if on dirt). I’ve had 5 litters so far and haven’t been able to eat but 2 rabbits. Kinda pisses me off. They do fund the chicken and rabbit feed though…….

As some of you know my two “male” rabbits had three litters of kits. I successfully re-homed two of those litters all while being called a breeder, monster, horrible person and so on. Well now I’m not even able to post about the third litter because these SJWs who think they’re saving these “poor over bred rabbits from a life of cruelty” are now robbing them of actual homes. I got one person to contact me about them but we were no longer able to talk to each other because the post got taken down. Once that happens all contact is broken. I’m ready to break these babies necks myself and be done with it. My mental health cannot take this. I am only on one social media, BYC, for a reason. My anxiety is too high. And all these people contacting me and telling me I’m sh*t and flagging my posts makes my anxiety worse. These baby rabbits aren’t worth it. I used to enjoy the parents and the one baby I kept. Used to enjoy watching them and spending time with them. Now I don’t. Now I don’t want to be anywhere near any of them and want all of them gone.
Ask Tractor Supply when their next chicken swap is, or if they know what chicken swap is coming up next. That's a great place to sell rabbits. And you'll be selling them to other people who understand rabbits the same way you do.

As far as Craigslist, this is something new. People are trying to ban selling animals on there. Just in case you didn't, you might want to list them in the farm section, or have a friend list them for you. But my best suggestion is the chicken swaps at TSC.

I am sorry about your frustration. I can understand how you feel. :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

Unfortunately @Smileybans is in NY (like me also) and NY has banned all poultry swaps, meetups, & shows/fair contests. So no chicken swaps for awhile.

I think @Smileybans you got some good advice with reworded ads. The photo shoot in a basket would be a great seller!

Knowing nothing about rabbits but something about insomnia...I was drawn to read this thread because of the good wording in your title! Lots of people out there with their panties in a wad - ignore the noise (on Craigslist) and don't let them interfere with your ad wording - because it sounds like you want the best for your rabbits! 😊

Sounds to me like rabbits are too much work and she would rather snap their necks than deal with them after having three accidental litters.
