I got a hen and rooster Ayam cenami alittle over a week ago. One of the birds (or both I can’t tell) had droppings that looked like they were sheading the lining of there intestines. I thought ok no prob, probably from the stress and change of food. But here I am 10 days later and lot of the droppings look like this still. I decided to start corid today liquid 1tsp per gallon (changed daily) for 5 days as a precaution before they are introduced to my flock. What do you think is going on? They can’t be sheading every day?? It has a stringy like texture to it. Birds are 4 month old. After corid I was going to use ivermectin.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. This is a great place to explore.
Looks fine not good to over medicate give them a few days.

Looks like they need grit in there diet. I see undigested scratch grains.
Ok I’ll give them some now, do you think a treatment of corid for 5 days is an ok idea? I was thinking ivermectin more when they are 6-8 months or just wait till I do my whole flock when they molt in November. I don’t want to shock there system. They are young!

Also I’m sorry I know this question gets asked a lot, I’m just extra aware of these birds because I want to protect my whole flock and I want to make sure they are healthy. I am pretty darn smart when it comes to a lot of things chickens, I just haven’t had this situation yet so it’s the unknown for me.

Also try fermenting there feed and giving it once a day.
Yes! I’ll do that! I love all of you haha
Giving them corid is added safety to your existing flock. I would skip the ivermectin unless there is visible signs of illness.
Ok! They are healthy looking and talk ALOT….I was also wondering if the Ayam cenami maybe had a different digestive track? I’m new to them

I have had the same flock (with a few add ons here and there) and never have seen a mite or worm. I do use diotomatious earth in there feed once a month, and added to there dust baths.
