She’s still screwed, and she seems fine. Active, happy, eating and pooping fine, laying fine, being mated like the other girls. We’ve changed her name to “Screwball” and I guess this is her new normal.

Great name change! hopefully the inside of her body will heal over the flat end of the screw, and it won't be an issue. you may want to trim it, just so it doesn't accidentally get pushed further inside if she were to bump it.

Wowser thing this morning! Hubby grabbed Screwball so we could have a look at her screwbelly, and the screw appears to be gone! It's either broken off inside, which I doubt, or it's gone. I checked, but didn't want to really get in and grind around. It feels like a scab, though. Here are the pics, as good as I could get--she was being feisty and uncooperative.

The mass is still there, an inch or so above it, solid, same size, doesn't appear to cause her problems. Gonna take this as a win!

Wow that's great! Keep a close eye one that spot that it doesn't get infected. That's one lucky hen.
